Etsy Fee Calculator 2026

A $50 item with $5 shipping does not leave you with $55. After the $0.20 listing fee, the 6.5% transaction fee, and payment processing, you keep $49.32 — and an Offsite Ads click can take even more. Enter your price and see every fee, line by line.

How Etsy Fees Work

Etsy does not take one cut — it takes four (sometimes five), and most of them are charged on the item price plus the shipping you charge the buyer, not just the item price. That is why free-shipping math matters so much.

Total fees = $0.20 listing + 6.5% of (price + shipping) + 3% of (price + shipping) + $0.25 processing + Offsite Ads (if the sale came from an ad)
Etsy fee 2026 rate What it is charged on
Listing fee $0.20 flat Per listing. Each listing stays live for 4 months, then renews for another $0.20.
Transaction fee 6.5% Item price plus shipping charged to the buyer.
Payment processing 3% + $0.25 Item price plus shipping charged to the buyer (US Etsy Payments rate).
Offsite Ads fee 12% or 15%, capped at $100 Item price plus shipping, only when the buyer clicked an Etsy ad off Etsy.
Currency conversion 2.5% Only if your shop currency differs from your payment account currency.
  • The quick rule of thumb: before Offsite Ads, Etsy keeps roughly 9.5% plus $0.45 of every order. Price an item so it still works after that cut.
  • Listings last 4 months: a slow-selling item renewed twice has already cost $0.60 in listing fees before it sells once.
  • Offsite Ads are tiered: shops that made under $10,000 in the last 365 days pay 15% when a sale comes from an Offsite Ad, and they can opt out. Shops at $10,000 or more pay 12% — and participation is mandatory, with no opt-out.
  • The $100 cap protects big orders: on a $1,000 sale at 15%, the uncapped ad fee would be $150, but Etsy stops at $100.

Frequently Asked Questions

With $5 shipping charged and no Offsite Ad: $0.20 listing + $3.58 transaction + $1.90 processing = $5.68 in total fees, so you receive $49.32 of the $55 the buyer paid. That is an effective fee rate of about 10.3%.

Yes. Both the 6.5% transaction fee and the 3% payment processing fee are calculated on the item price plus the shipping you charge the buyer. Offering “free shipping” by folding shipping into the price does not avoid the fees — the base is the same either way.

Only if your shop made under $10,000 in the last 365 days — those shops pay 15% per attributed sale and can turn Offsite Ads off in settings. Once a shop passes $10,000, the fee drops to 12% but participation becomes mandatory with no opt-out.

Four months. When a listing expires it can be renewed for another $0.20 and another four months. The listing fee is also charged again for each additional quantity sold from a multi-quantity listing.

$100 per order. On an $800 order at the 15% rate the percentage math gives $120, but Etsy caps the fee at $100. The cap makes Offsite Ads proportionally cheaper on large orders.
